Background

Derek Landis, CFP®, is an Investment Advisor Representative with The Normandy Group.  He holds a Series 65 and is licensed to sell life, accident and health, and long-term care insurance in Colorado.

Derek is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.  Only those who have fulfilled the certification and renewal requirements of the CFP Board can display the CFP® certification trademarks which represent a high level of competency, ethics, and professionalism. And because he commits to act as a fiduciary when providing financial advice to a client, Derek will always act in client’s best interest.  As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Derek looks forward to being of service to your financial planning needs in the years to come.

As an Investment Advisor Representative Derek is enthusiastic to assist associates with performing fund and market analysis, insurance research, the analysis of cash flows and the preparation financial statements. Derek enjoys analyzing client situations and working through challenges in a collaborative environment to find solutions. He also appreciates meeting face to face with individuals to identify needs and goals, then implementing a process to meet these goals. He is very enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with colleagues and further his experience in the field.

Prior to joining The Normandy Group, Derek had a successful career at the University of Sioux Falls and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. While accomplishing this, Derek earned a spot on the Dean’s list for five semesters.

During his time at the University of Sioux Falls, he enjoyed a scholarship as a member of the University of Sioux Falls football team and contributed to a conference championship in 2016.  In 2017 he earned a second-team all-conference spot and was placed on the leadership council. With success on the field and success in the classroom, he graduated in January of 2018.
